Calvin Harris - I'm Not Alone (deadmau5 remix) [Columbia]
Calvin Harris invented disco. No, Calvin Harris reinvented disco. He was Marks & Spencers' champion shelf-stacker two years running. He made his debut album fuelled by chicken breast fillets. He knows the whereabouts of Alex Kapranos' secret studio-hideaway-laboratory-home cuz it's quite near his own place in Dumfries. Calvin Harris will make you jump around like a silly-billy - the slamming likes of 'The Girls' and 'Merrymaking At My Place' (the latter soon to be found on a second 10-inch) will meet you on the dancefloor now. But if you let him, he might also make you cry. "I've made a lot of miserable tunes - I've got an album worth of depressing chords. I've not got any lyrics, like." Calvin Harris has his own label, FlyEye, and a manifesto, innit. "Disco disappeared, didn't it? Everyone got sick of it. Now I'm reviving it, with space goggles, or something."

Dirty South ft. Rudy - We Are (original mix) [Vicious Grooves]
t has been an amazing ride for the Grammy Nominated DJ/Producer Dirty South aka Dragan Roganovic. Born in Belgrade, Serbia and relocating to Melbourne, Australia when he was 13, kick started his musical journey as he started to get influenced by everything around him. Like many other youngsters starting out in the music biz, Dragan couldn’t afford turntables but he managed to improvise with his old NEC Hi-Fi and started mixing with the tape decks. From here on, Dragan developed further by making bootlegs and mashups. Next step was to get even more serious so a brand new computer, software and keyboards were needed. With only a few short years under his belt in the international production scene, Dirty South’s potential to achieve tremendous musical heights seems limitless. This is the story so far, and there is definitely more to come from Dirty South…

Lazy Jay - Float My Boat (Moguai remix) [Big & Dirty Records]
It’s almost near the impossible to keep up with the number of productions this bad boy from Belgium is popping out of his studio. Also hard to believe that nearly every release is a spot on dancefloor killer! With the ever growing support on his material from the house to the trance scene, things are looking big for Lazy Jay.

Pryda - Reeperbahn (original mix) [Pryda]
Eric Prydz stands alone in his proven ability to mix commercial success with underground notoriety. This is clearly demonstrated by his capacity to deliver huge global hits, but then simultaneously be held in the highest regard by an adoring underground scene. His careful and smart approach of releasing certain tracks under different pseudonyms, on his own labels, has enabled him to achieve a kind of success that has never been seen before or since.

Imogen Heap - Hide & Seek (Joy Kitikonti remix)
Musician, dj and producer, Joy Kitikonti is a polyhedric artist with several discographic successes, important partnerships and awards in his background. Two years ago he started up his own label, the Footlovers Music, wich collects several tracks of young and talented producers. All these experiences made him the complete artist of today. Complete with his signature Mau5head with its powerful strobing eyes, this mind-blowing piece of costume is worn to maximum effect during his live shows; yet another addition to the ever-increasing aura that surrounds this unique young artist.

Parasol Stars - Ibiza Sunrise [Parasol Phonothque]
Producers for many years, we focus our music to a style definitely club oriented and dancefloor efficient. Our only goal is to make a fresh and festive sound to make people dance, with our own creations as well as remixes that we sign. Lovers of electronic music for nearly 20 years, we followed the evolution of this musical style until today. Having lived the golden age of this sound in the early 90, participating at the first raves in France, we are still attached to the roots of this movement. Our passion remaining intact, we are making some revival mix sessions. This is not in contradiction with our productions, definitely club oriented and dancefloor efficient. For us, this new musical style is the sequel of this original sound that inspires more than one today. – Parasol Stars

Tobias Hoppe - Dancing On A Cloud (Oliver Morgenroth remix) [Jetlag Digital]
Tobias Hoppe was born in 1982 in Germany. He grew up in Linden near Frankfurt/Main. In the age of 5 years he started to play the piano (until the age of 13). His mother was a singer and keyboard player in a pop band during the ‘80’s. Therefore he got in contact with music in his life very early and he listened to musicians like Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, George Michael, Sting etc. He discovered his real love for electronic music in the year 1999 when he heard his first DJ set played by Taucher. So he began to search for new experiences and started to visit a lot of clubs and parties. It was only a matter of time that he bought himself a pair of turntables and a mixer. During this time he became resident DJ at the nice club “Go-In” in Gelnhausen and had a lot of gigs especially in the Frankfurt area. In December 2003 the radio station and the “Go-In” closed either because of insolvency. At the same time Tobias started to produce his first self-made music. After the insolvency he had only very few gigs because of his chemistry study and he decided to focus on producing music and discovered the fascination of making new sounds, melodies and noises ;-).

Mark Knight & Funkagenda - Flauta Magica (original mix) [Toolroom]
The embodiment of the modern DJ, Mark Knight’s legacy already ranks him as a leading player in dance music culture’s evolution into the digital and globalised age. His high octane sets, which treble and bass their way right across the dance music spectrum, have caused dance floor carnage in every corner of the world, whilst his original productions and slick remixes make his studio skills the most in-demand and sought after in the business. Yet, Mark Knight’s rise to number 42 in the DJ Mag Top 100 Poll (2008) has been more than just gigs and remixes. Not content with the status quo and outdated DJ ideas and methods, he created his own workshop for 21st century dance musicians, Toolroom Records, and with it a new way of thinking. Established in 2004, the Toolroom imprint has developed into an uncontrollable beast, forging an insatiable, genre busting sound, celebrating success as the biggest selling label on Beatport and reaching the milestone of 100 releases in 2009 with none other than Faithless as new label artists. All this on the back of 2008’s record breaking, award winning anthem ‘Man with the Red Face’, a remake, with label buddy Funkagenda, of the Laurent Garnier classic.

Cevin Fisher - The Freaks Come Out (Prok & Fitch mix) [Subversive]

DJ Feel, Alex Popov & Tiff Lacey - Time After Time (Chris Reece main mix) [Enormous Tunes]
With a wide diverse and a positive energetic sound Chris Reece started through in 2007.
“Music needs to come from the bottom of your heart, doesn’t matter what kind of music”, he says. And it seems to turn out right these days. His Remixes find full support from the biggest global players and his own stuff earns massive reaction on the floors and in the current music scene. The biggest development in Chris's career came when he felt he had done all he could with the uplifting trance sound he'd been tagged with and became enthused with the underground, tribal & progressive house sound.

Austin Leeds & Starkillers ft. Betsie Larkin - All The Way (Marco G & Amin Golestan remix) [Ultra]
Austin Leeds is that kind of modest musical genius who doesnԴ mention his amazing body of work or long, successful career when you first meet him. Instead he’l drag you into his studio to get your opinion on his next track, always striving to improve and innovate. And with the huge number of quality tunes he churns out, you could be in there for a while. Originally from Miami, a town that is no stranger to dance music, Austin recently settled in Las Vegas, that other sun-drenched capital of sonic hedonism, just down the street from good friend and production partner Nick Terranova. AustinԳ collaborative partnership with Nick has been a long and successful one.

Way Out West - Only Love (Jerome Isma-Ae vocal remix) [Hope Recordings]
Titans: a term that’s been fading from public consciousness since the film with the gold fleece and Argonauts. The rise of UK dance music in the early 1990s saw the word in mass circulation, however: “titans” flowered like the Fibonacci sequence, a string of formidable double-acts helping generations choose their own pulse rate. Massive Attack, Leftfield, Underworld, Orbital… all rolled boulders across the plains of electronica; all gave the’90s a hypo. On the prow of some serious Pete Tong time came twelve-bore Bristolites Way Out West: the concord of Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff, two DJs crackling with invention.

Their music is a fusion of electronic styles including techno, house and disco that has since been described as 'French house'. The duo are protective of their physical identities and are usually depicted wearing masks or with their faces out of focus - this was initially through shyness, although the image of man-machines was in keeping with the electronic nature of their music.
